Educate your children with the encouragement and support of other homeschooling parents. Each month features a guest speaker or panel discussing issues that are relevant to you and your homeschooling day. Since we rely on member volunteers during our meetings, we want to be sure to give them opportunities to be fed as well. Thus, have two types of meetings:
Family Meetings are geared to all family members. To make attendance easier on these nights and allow for more fellowship, there may be a potluck beforehand. Bring a dish to share and come for extra time to fellowship with other families. If you can help with the potluck, set-up or clean-up contact our Social Activities Coordinator. The meeting will begin at its regular 7pm start.
Regular Meetings are geared to parents. While children are welcome to sit quietly in the meeting room, activities for them will be provided by adult volunteers in the basement.
Topics in the past have included:
- How to Start a Homeschool School
- Approaches and Learning Styles
- What Homeschool Parents Need to Know About Drug Awareness and Education
- Conquering Corrupt Culture by Raising Christian Communicators
- Burn-out and Motivation; How to have a Great Homeschool Day
- Joys and Challenges of Homeschooling at Different Stages
- Spiritual Training of Our Children, Preparing Children for Life-Long Relationships
- Using Computer for Home Learning

Career Exploration Nights for Grades 7-12 (if we get a volunteer coordinator) In the past, these have run concurrent with our Regular Meetings**. Middle and high school students will have the opprtunity to listen to local representatives from different career fields discuss their jobs. This is a great opportunity to learn about the education and training needed, benefits, job description, etc. Parents and younger siblings are welcome, too.
There will be a sign up sheet at each meeting for families to serve as meeting hostesses, bring snacks for meetings or help with the potlucks. You may also contact our Social Activities Coordinator (see our Contact page). Thanks for considering helping in these ways!
Note: As with any regular meeting, we would like separate planned activities for children, but we need parent volunteers for this to happen. If you are interested in helping with this need during future, please contact our Chairman of the Board.
