Moms' Tea
Moms and nursing babies are invited to hear a speaker, drink tea and nibble yummy delicacies provided by table hostesses. Held the week between Christmas and New Year's Day.
Field Trips
These are always popular events. If you would like to host an ERCHA field trip, send an email to Social Activities for guidelines for planning a field trip for ERCHA. A list of ideas is also available if you are new to the area and want to plan a trip but would like suggestions of local places of interest. Planning a field trip is a great way to get to know other ERCHA families!
Great American Night
In celebration of President's Day in February, our Great American Night will provide an opportunity for us to get re-acquainted with (or learn about) some interesting American. Students write reports or prepare a table project to present an American who they consider great. Dressing in period type costumes is encouraged. Great American Night also gives children an opportunity to do constructive research, speak before a group, prepare a "period conscious" outfit and mingle with other home educators.
Curriculum/Book Sale

Educational Opportunities
Tuesday Clubs
Tuesday Clubs are being organized! ERCHA members are invited to begin planning a club now or to sign up for one at the ERCHA picnic. What is a Tuesday Club? They are members sharing with other member families ways to make a particular subject fun. Our clubs are held at Eagle River Grace Church and are run by ERCHA parent volunteers. They can focus on one particular topic of interest such as geography, math, Legos, sewing, Spanish, choir, drama, speech
well, you get the idea; just about any topic that would enhance your childs education experience.
This year we would like to offer clubs with a 9-week option, allowing families to commit to less than a whole year. Tuesday Clubs will begin in September with meetings every week or every-other week, depending on the topic and leader. All ages are welcome but non-participating children must be supervised by the parent. This is a time for the whole family to experience and learn; no drop-offs please. When we are meeting at church, church business and appointments should be conducted before, after or at another time. ERCHA will have use of the church facility so a toddler/pre-school club could even be planned.
Fees. Other than for materials each club may require, there is no participation fee. Our clubs are for the benefit of ERCHA members and there will be as many clubs as we have interest, leaders and participants.
Classes
ERCHA parents frequently work together to offer group classes for their children. Some parents want to teach a specific class because their children need to cover a subject and they think it would be most beneficial to do so in a group, such as a speech class. Other parents have a passion for a subject and just enjoy leading classes. Parents who are involved arrange their own objectives, teaching plans, schedules, and meeting place.
Considering leading a group this year! Contact the ERCHA Education section to receive your Clubs and Classes Planner.

Trash to Cash Programs
There are several programs ERCHA uses to earn money to help support our home school activities. These programs run all year long, cost nothing for participating and can be done with little effort. Cash collected can be used to help offset costs of prizes for the kick-off picnic, annual Moms Tea speaker and incidentals that arise during the year. The possibilities are endless.
